ARGOT

It was a chance meeting that brought Justin Harmon and Libation Project together during my visit to California in the spring. In retrospect, I feel very fortunate that our paths crossed. Justin brought a genuineness and a vibrant energy to our initial visit that I found remarkably engaging. Perhaps it was his Midwestern roots (native Chicagoan)? I believe it’s because he’s truly found his life’s passion. The one-time, successful software engineer giddily recounted his first foray into winemaking years ago, using grape concentrate in his parents’ basement. Just a few short years later he found himself in the North Coast of California, making wine under the tutelage of Russell Bevan. Justin’s wines are substantial; from the packaging, to the finished wines. That said, there’s a fantastic frivolity and balance throughout the portfolio.
